Pros and cons of FoodTrackerPro - Daily Food Eating Log app for iPhone and iPad
FoodTrackerPro - Daily Food Eating Log app good for
Very nice app - Exactly what I need since I dont go by calories but by portion according the Food Guide. Love the fact that we can select quarters or half portion and basically, the portion we select are based on whatever we want to make them. It does not limit us to pre-decided weight and portions. Love it.
I have 3 suggestions to make it perfect (for me at least!). Add a place for us to enter our weight - either every day or once a week and we can then use this app to see week over week the trend. I would also like to be able to enter some reference food in the categories - for instance, I can never remember what my cottage cheese is worth in milk portions..3 or 4? If I could specify it in the Serving category, I could go and check for sure before I make an entry. It would be like entering customized servings based on what we usually eat. That would be my number 1 addition. Last suggestion would be a simple daily comment section where we can add personnal notes - just a few words. Would be helpful for people like me, trying to understand what food has made me sick or for other people, what gives them migraines or makes them gain weight, etc...
That would be the 5 stars application for me ;)
I have recently started using this app in addition to the one I normally use to track the calories of the food I eat, since I wanted to also keep track of the food groups. I like that the groups in the app correspond to the diatitian association guide food groups and that there is capacity for adding personalized groups. I would really like to see an option to edit numbers in different categories if a mistake happened in the past without resetting the whole day. It would also be great to be able to add personal portion suggestions - as of right now, I need to keep referring to my paper cheat sheet all the time, but it would be great if I could add the info to the app directly.
I love the app. I just wish that it had a place to mark down notes for the day. Thanks.
Great app! But will be better if we can see the portions dissapears by but the number hallow or thing like that. A kind of pie for each categorie. And slide up and down for add or remove "a piece of tart" representating a portion would be better than touch to add and go on setting to remove last entry. Tanks very much for that app!
Really great app for the money. Simple and easy to use. I like the fact that you can set your own goals. Good app to use in combination with my calorie counter.
This is a great app if your not into fad diets. It helps you make sure your getting the variety in the major food groups. My suggestion is the serving sizes should be relatable to people who are not readily having measurements so instead of grams and ounces this app should also give measurements like steak serving size like the size of a hockey puck or fist etc. That way individuals can make an easier distinction when not at home.
Some bad moments
In the App you can give points to the food you ate, so you can keep track.
But you cannot reduce those points if you accidentally gave wrong points.
You can only delete the whole day. Worse for custom food, these even cant be deleted over that option.
In the state right now the app is unusable!
It has an incomprehensible user interface and spends much of its time loading - lord knows what its loading - and once its loaded it crashes (five times in five minutes on my iPad). The icons are not explained or perhaps they are in the never-never land aps go to when they crash. Its infuriating because it costs and there are better and cleaner aps which do what this one tries to and which are free. Dont bother pressing the ap support button - its an equally useless web site. Pass. Pass. Pass.
I thought I would be able to enter each item and then they be categorized but its not the case. You basically just indicate how many items from each food group you ate that day
For $4.99, I expected this app to do a lot more. Everyone says this app is so great, but I dont know how it can be because it basically does nothing. You can set goals for how much of each food group you should be eating, but the app doesnt allow you to enter your age, height or weight to determine it. You have to figure it out for yourself, which is something I expected to be supplied with since I was paying for an app that has an overall 4-star rating. I wish I had never bought this app. I dont recommend it to anyone.
Its ok, but seriously not worth the price point. This app should be a buck or two at most. All it does is track your exchanges for the day and nothing more. Very no frills.
Im looking for something that will provide calorie counts!!! This is worthless!!!! Would like a credit!!!!
