Great for DASH

I got put on the DASH diet by my doctor to help control my cholesterol and triglycerides. The DASH diet uses portion counts, not calorie counting - and this app is perfect! I love the customization and the weekly tracker. Really pleased with the purchase, its been instrumental in helping me stay on track.

I love this app!

I have been looking for an app that will track food groups. I have already been using MyFitnessPal, but I wanted to see where my carbs were coming from (veggies? Grains?) and where my fat was coming from (meat? Oils? Sweets?). I met with a nutritionist who told me how many servings of each food group I should be having, and I really wanted to find an app that would let me keep track. This app is great! I still use MyFitnessPal to log all of my food, but then I add the servings on here to see which type of meal I should have next.

Basic But Helpful

If you follow a food exchange program, this app tracks your exchanges. Its overall look & function is very basic, but keeps track of what youve eaten and what you still have left for the day rather than writing it down. It allows you to change the number of exchanges per food group based on what your goals are. Some suggested improvements: (1) Add a food journal to keep track of the actual foods eaten, and (2) add the ability to synch between my iPad & iPhone!! Have not found an app that does both, so I currently use 2 apps to accomplish everything I need.

Simple & Easy

My nutritionist has me tracking food portions. This is the only I found. For tracking portions its easy. I wish editing was easier, you can only delete portions in the inverse order in which you added them. Overall a good app

Great app

I use this to keep track of my toddlers meals and it is a lifesaver!! No more forgetting if shes gotten all her veggies or protein for the day!! So easy to use!!

Simpler way of watching what I eat

Just what I was looking for. I set how many servings from each food group I want to eat daily (based on daily calories needed) and the app tracks everything for me. Also, this is less time consuming than tracking calories, while achieving the same goal.

Some Suggestions!

Im sad this app isnt very popular, i love the idea of not counting calories. Okay heres some things to start with; - dairy and non dairy alternatives in the dairy tab (im vegan) -being able to add your own serving sizes to the list; like almond milk or whatever floats your boat.

I really like this app. Its easy to use and I like that you can customize how many servings of each food group you want to reach. However I wish they had a data base so that you could track the different types off of you eat and log meals. It would make it a lot easier and also would just be nice to be able to look back and see your days meals comprised.

Great for Ornish

This app was a great find for me! Im in a workshop learning to follow the Ornish Spectrum. One of the requirements is that we keep track of the number of daily servings in the various food groups. With a couple of simple additions, I was able to tailor this to the plan. It saves me having to carry around a sheet of paper every day. Much appreciated!

WAY too dumbed down

REALLY oversimplifies types of food and doesnt let you separate proteins, carbs or even fats. I should have listened to the other reviewers.

Simple, with a few inaccuracies

I just got this app and already love it. Its exactly what Ive been looking for, especially for those of us who dont want to micro-manage our caloric intake. Im very excited to have this app at my fingertips to help me along my journey!

Less than expected for the price

This app does nothing that I expected. Basically you just check off anytime you eat a fruit or veg etc.. Doesnt show food name of what youve eaten so its hard to know how many servings there are in that food. Very disappointed

Waste of money

This app does nothing! All it does is count servings and provides no other info.

Great app

Used fitness pal for years and tired of tracking exact foods. Love the easy way to track number of portions without having to track specific foods. Great for ornish. An undo button would make the app perfect! For those who want to track food, calories etc. please get fitness pal instead of asking developers to change this ap. :)

Do NOT Buy This

Feels like $5 was stolen from me. This app is useless and the description seems to be a total misrepresentation of any use to be made of it. No access to record individual foods, only categories. Ridiculous to call it a food log/diary.

Good

I like the app except that you cant alter a previous days entry. It is an expensive app and for that price, I would expect different options. I also would like different pictures for the food categories. But that isnt a big deal. For the price, I probably wouldnt recommend it.

Best so far

I absolutely love this app. Simple to use. Only app I could find to track food group servings and not calories. I love that you can add customized items, track progress and set goals. Please update it to make it Apple Watch compatible!
